Heads up! Booking your stay should be at the top of your to-do’s. As a popular destination, hotels in the area have a limited number of rooms and are starting to book up. We highly recommend booking now, even if you don’t have your flight yet. Most offer a refundable and non-refundable rate if you need a little flexibility.
After further consideration & a lot of research we have found that hotel room blocks offered in the area of Lake Como do not provide much benefit for our guests! We have compiled a list of hotels below for you to choose from, but feel free to venture elsewhere (within the towns of Como or Cernobbio) whether it be another hotel option or an Airbnb.
There are so many beautiful towns on Lake Como, but be sure you book your stay within either the town of Como or Cernobbio.
Out of the two, Como is the more popular and bigger option. Como is the town where our welcome party is located and Cernobbio is the town where our wedding venue is located. Both quite close to each other! If you venture outside of those towns, it will just add another layer of transportation stress for you to deal with. PLUS we plan to have transportation provided that will be making stops in central parts of both Como and Cernobbio. You’ll definitely want to utilize that so staying in either of those two towns will be in your best interest!
Another small tip is the closer to the lake you are the more convenient! But if you find accommodation a bit higher up hill it’s no problem at all. You’ll just have to make your way to the transportation meeting point.

How do we get there?
Our wedding venue is in Lake Como, Italy and the closest airport is Milan Malpensa International Airport (MXP). Lake Como is roughly one hour from this airport. Will transportation be provided to wedding events?
Absolutely! We plan on providing shuttles to and from both the welcome party and the wedding. Shuttles will pick up and drop off guests in central spots of Como and Cernobbio. More information will be provided closer to the big day.
What ride share apps are used in Lake Como?
Uber is not very popular in Lake Como as it is in the states. All of the main transportation hubs like train stations, airports, etc. will have cabs waiting. Hotels will also able to call a taxi for anyone who needs one. To get around Lake Como, people usually use the ferry system. What are the travel requirements for Italy?
At this present time, all you will need is a valid passport, so double-check that your passport is up to date and does not expire within 6 months of your departure date.
